IT IS POSSIBLE.

Enoch walked with God in the days of Noah. It was not favourable then.

Shiprah and Puah, the two midwives of the Israelites refused to be part of the genocide planned by an Egyptian Pharaoh, against male children of Israel.

Obadiah, the overseer of the household of the evil King Ahab remained a devoted servant of God.

He is credited for hiding 100 prophets of God from Ahab's wife, the wicked Queen Jezebel, in a cave and bringing them food and drink. He also served as Ahab's emissary to the prophet Elijah.

Joseph, the son of Jacob and Rachel refused the cheap offer of Potiphar's wife. He chose to please God against enjoying temporary pleasure of sin.

Mordecai withstood the intimidation and persecution of Haman and was handsomely rewarded.

Esther, Mordecai's cousin and the daughter of his Uncle Abihail,  humbled herself and became an instrument for the deliverance of the Jews at the risk of destruction.

Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, preferred to die instead of displeasing their God in a strange land.

Brethren in the church in Pergamum were neighbors to Satan and the remained true to God's name.

You can also live to please God wherever you are in the society, in the present world.

God's grace is very much available to quicken and teach us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.

It is possible.
